Alignments

Radio X offers several levels of alignments, Standard, Super Tune and Extreme Tune.

Standard Tune: 

Includes full alignment of the FM and AM sections of your Tuner or Receiver. This includes the frontend, IF and MPX and audio adjustments.

These alignments can be done on most tuners without a manual, however if you want to make sure your tuner meets or exceeds the factory specifications, and I don't have the manual in my library, either you will have to provide a manual, or I can get one and it will be added to your bill at my cost.

Cost: $80

Super Tune:

Includes the standard tune, plus high quality gold plated sockets are installed for your IF filters and a set of matched filters are used. I can custom tune you tuner for DX'ing, audiophile, or a combination of the two, slightly better selectivity while leaving the bandwidth wide enough to get good distortion measurements.

Cost will depend how many filters your tuner has. Typically $12 per filter. Slightly more if your IF board has to be taken out of the tuner for filter installation.

Can only be done on tuners with ceramic filters.

Extreme Tune:

Includes, standard and super tune, plus the addition of a add on IF filter board. These boards increase the number of filters in your tuner by one or two, plus adds an additional stage of IF amplification. This can give you an even narrower bandwidth for DX'ing or can help with those week hissy stations, the extra stage brings the level up to the MPX section to get better quieting.

Add on filter boards were designed and produced by Bill Ammons and you can read all about them here. I have a stock of left and right hand boards as well as 3 filter boards.

Cost: $50 per 2 filter board or $65 per 3 filter board.
